Modeling and Simulation
of Signal Transduction Pathways
Biochemistry University of
Our group is concerned in four-dimensional
modeling of intracellualr signaling. The complexity of such processes
makes in silico approaches necessary for an understanding.
gave an overview on signal transduction in general and closer look
on the phosphoinositol-pathway.
Mathematical modeling demands
for good results the existence of reliable data, e.g. concentrations
or rate constants. Therefore I described important steps for a modeling
I explained differences between the deterministic and
stochastic approach on modeling chemical reactions and finally outlined
the aims of our project to establish a simulator for modeling a
human hepatocyte including database information and data provided
by confocal microscopy.
