of Signal Transduction Pathways

Our group is concerned in four-dimensional
modeling of intracellualr signaling. The complexity of such processes
makes in silico approaches necessary for an understanding. I
gave an overview on signal transduction in general and closer look
on the phosphoinositol-pathway. Mathematical modeling demands
for good results the existence of reliable data, e.g. concentrations
or rate constants. Therefore I described important steps for a modeling
approach. I explained differences between the deterministic and
stochastic approach on modeling chemical reactions and finally outlined
the aims of our project to establish a simulator for modeling a
human hepatocyte including database information and data provided
by confocal microscopy.
