Project Overview
We are looking for outstanding researchers who will work on scientific
research projects on machine learning, bioinformatics, and biocomputing.

Description of Positions
Position 1: Post-doctoral researcher in statistics, physics, or mathematics (two years, renewable to four years)
- Duties:
- Self-motivated research and publication in the areas of probabilistic inference, statistical learning, and stochastic processes
- Leading a small research group consisting of PhD and MS students
- Requirements: PhD in physics, statistics, mathematics, or communications theory.
- Salary: Competitive to the BK21 postdoc program, and incentives are negotiable depending on specialties, records, and work experience.
- Starting date: August 1, 2001.
Position 2 : Post-doctoral researcher in molecular biology, biochemistry, or biochemical engineering (two years, renewable to four years)
- Duties:
- Self-motivated research and publication in the areas of biological datamining, analysis and interpretation of DNA microarray data, gene finding and prediction, functional genomics, and proteomics.
- Leading a small research group consisting of PhD and MS students
- Requirements: PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, or related disciplines.
- Salary: Competitive to the BK21 postdoc program, and incentives are
negotiable depending on specialties, records, and work experience.
- Starting date: August 1, 2001.
Position 3 : Full-time or part-time researcher in bioinformatics (one year, renewable to three years)
- Requirements: MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, or related disciplines.
- Analysis and interpretation of biological sequence data and DNA microarray data.
- Duties: Teaching molecular biology to computer scientists and organizing seminars on molecular biology and bioinformatics.
- Salary: Negotiable depending on work hours, specialties, and work experience
- Starting date: July 1, 2001.
Position 4 : Full-time or part-time research assistant in bioinformatics (one year, with possible admission to MS courses in computer science, cognitive science, or brain science program with entrance examinations)
- Duties: Designing and implementing biological data mining tools in teamwork.
- Requirements: BS in biological sciences or related fields.
- Salary: Negotiable depending on working hours and specialties.
- Starting date: July 1, 2001.
Position 5 : Programmers (3 months, renewable to one year)
- Duties: Web programming, user interface programming, data visualization, and/or system administration.
- Requirements: Undergraduate students with C++ or Java programming skills
- Salary: Negotiable depending on specialties and work experience.
- Starting date: July 1, 2001.
Position 6 : Interns in biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, and mathematics (6 months, renewable to one year)
- Duties: Attendance in seminars on bioinformatics, biocomputing, and machine learning
- Requirements: Masters degrees in biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, or mathematics. Strong interests in interdisciplinary research and learning computers and artificial intelligence techniques.
- Salary: Negotiable depending on specialties and work experience.
- Starting date: Anytime
